Choose Ye This Day!

I am surprised I feel such fury, but I do! When Miss California stated her opinion “Marriage should be between a man and a woman,” she should have been judged on her overall answer, the way she presented herself, whether she could think on her feet, etc. Instead she was punished because a judge disagreed with her answer which was clearly a biased and polarized question to begin with. (See her on the Today Show, her words literally brought me to tears)

Not to mention, Miss California had the responsibility of representing her state. With the passing of Prop 8 back in November we know the majority of her state agrees with her. She was able to embody the values of her state beautifully, with her tan skin, blonde hair, and stand on the value of marriage.

Miss California, I want to say, “Thank you” for standing up for what you believe in and not backing down. You were put in a compromising situation where you found yourself having to offend someone: either a few select members of the audience and the judge you were directly speaking to (which if they were mature about it, would be able to accept that everyone is entitled to their own opinion) or your God. You made the right choice!

Thank you for showing young people everywhere that it is important to decide now where you stand so when faced with a question you know exactly how you want to answer it. Being “politically correct” is not what it used to be, it has gone too far. With the world quickly changing, the righteous and ridiculous are being further and further divided. Now is the time to choose and stand up for what you believe. “Choose ye this day whom ye will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
