Orange & Ruffles

This is my newest creation! I didn’t have a specific pattern I followed, I based it off of a picture I saw and made it up as I went. I actually enjoyed that process a lot more than trying to follow every step on a pattern!

I want to think of a fun name for each style of apron I make but I am drawing a blank on this one...any ideas?
While I am talking about my homemade goods, I wanted to share one of my favorite sites for inspiration: http://www.etsy.com/. This is a site for all kinds of artists making homemade items to sell them online. I used to think that homemade items looked cheap & plain. I don’t feel that way at all anymore! There are so many artistic and creative people out there who have amazing talents and “Etsy” is a great place to find them!

Birthday Bash

It was my birthday recently and what can I say, I feel so spoiled. I am always amazed at how well my family knows me and how many friends remembered my birthday. My family celebrated at my parent’s house where we had homemade CafĂ© Rio Salads (one of my favorite foods ever!) and yummy chocolate cake! We were also able to hear a sneak preview of Chaz’s band’s new album. It sounded awesome and I can hardly wait for it to go on sale. (Don’t worry, I will keep you updated on the release date!)

I got some awesome gifts! My parents bought me a darling Black shirt and a special surprise. My mom called me about a month ago and asked me to block out the night of July 11th because she had something planned for my birthday. So when it came to opening presents time, I saw a bag (the one with my shirt in it) and a folder with a ribbon tied around it. I was very intrigued by this folder and was given very specific instructions for opening.

“On the inside you will find 12 different picture clues for what the event is on the 11th. They are numbered 1-12 and you can only look at them one at a time. Its a test to see how many pictures you have to view before you can figure out your gift.”
Here is what I saw:

Did you guess it? My mom is taking me on the "Fun Bus" to Wendover to see Diamond Rio in concert! Isn't that awesome!!! We had such a blast on our trip! Who would have thought Wendover could be so much fun?!

Then my cute husband bought me these awesome new running shoes and a new pedometer. I was glad he picked them out because he bought me really nice ones that I would never have convinced myself to buy. They are those totally breathable ones so they are really comfy with or without socks! Not only are they all high-tech, but I love that they are pink and orange! Fun huh!

My little brother Chaz painted me a beautiful gray scale oil painting of a magnolia blossom. I am always amazed by his talent!

Thanks to all my family and friends for making my 25th birthday a blast. Love you all!
